The International Handball Federation (IHF) and the Paris 2024 Organising Committee have announced the match schedules for the preliminary rounds of the Paris 2024 Men’s and Women’s Olympic handball competitions.
The competitions will take place at South Paris Arena 6, featuring six matches per day from July 25 to August 4, except for July 26, when the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony will take place on the Seine River.
The women’s competition will kick off on July 25, with reigning Olympic champions and world champions France facing Hungary, and Norway clashing with Sweden. The men’s competition will commence on July 27, with a highly anticipated rematch between Denmark and France, the teams that played the last two Olympic finals and the 2023 IHF Men’s World Championship final. Another high-profile match between Germany and Sweden will also headline the first day of the men’s competition.
The preliminary rounds will conclude on August 3 for the women’s competition and August 4 for the men’s competition. The knockout phase will follow after a rest day, with the matches being played at Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille. The women’s medal matches are scheduled for August 10, while the men’s medal matches will take place on August 11.
The match schedules for the knockout stage, including the throw-off times, will be announced at a later date.
