4 Air Chiefs fly together at Exercise Tarang Shakti

Exercise Tarang Shakti: Indian Air Force marked the end of the first phase of Exercise Tarang Shakti 2024 at Air Force Station Sulur, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, with a show of multi-national force, synergy, and co-operation. The Air Chiefs of the four participating air forces flew in a unique formation of two Su-30MKIs and two HAL Tejas two-seaters.

This included India’s Chief of Air Staff Air, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, General Stephane Mille, Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force, Lt General Ingo Gerhartz, Chief of the German Air Force, and Air General Francisco Braco Carbo, the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Air and Space Force.

Exercise Tarang Shakti 2024 is being held for the first time by the Indian Air Force and is planned to be a biennial air exercise, encompassing multinational events involving at least 30 nations.

At the conclusion of the first phase of the exercise, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said, “We will definitely take up the case of having this exercise once in every alternate year. We will take a call later on how many nations we can accommodate. But definitely this is not going to be the last one.”

The air exercise marks an event of historical significance, as it brings together the four Air Chiefs on a single platform, for the first time, aimed at increasing collaboration with mutual learning.
