India started their ODI series against England with a dominant 4-wicket victory, successfully chasing 248 runs in just 38.4 overs. The win gives India a 1-0 lead in the series and sets the tone for the upcoming matches.

After winning the toss, England opted to bat first but struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack. Despite a few good partnerships, they couldn’t build a big total. Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone made useful contributions, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Eventually, England was bowled out for 248 in 47.4 overs.

Chasing 248, India had a shaky start as captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for just 2 runs. However, Shubman Gill took charge, scoring a brilliant 87 off 96 balls. His composed innings provided the foundation for India’s chase. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel also played valuable cameos, keeping the scoreboard ticking.

England’s bowlers, especially Adil Rashid and Saqib Mahmood, fought back with crucial wickets. Rashid dismissed Axar Patel (52) and KL Rahul (2), creating some pressure. But Hardik Pandya (9*) and Ravindra Jadeja (12*) ensured India reached the target comfortably without any late drama.

With this victory, India takes the lead in the three-match series. The second ODI will be crucial for England as they look to level the series. Fans can expect another exciting contest as both teams aim for a strong performance.
