A controversy has erupted over an episode of India’s Got Latent, where Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and Apoorva Makhija made inappropriate remarks. The incident has led to legal complaints and widespread public backlash.
During the episode, Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, asked a highly inappropriate question to a contestant, which left the audience and co-panelists shocked. Comedian Samay Raina, the host of the show, was visibly uncomfortable and reacted to the remark. Apoorva Makhija, another guest judge, also made controversial comments, adding to the outrage.
The show quickly came under fire on social media, with many calling out the hosts for their insensitive behavior. Journalist Neelesh Misra criticized the content, pointing out how easily it is accessible to younger audiences.
Following the backlash, Mumbai-based lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra filed complaints with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, demanding action against those involved. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also addressed the issue, stating that while freedom of speech is important, there are limits that should not be crossed.
Ranveer Allahbadia has since apologized, admitting that his remark was inappropriate and not humorous. He also requested the removal of the offensive segments from the episode. However, neither Samay Raina nor Apoorva Makhija has publicly responded to the controversy.
The incident has sparked a debate on responsible content creation and the limits of humor, especially when such content is widely available online.
