REC Limited Signs MoU with Govt. of Madhya Pradesh to Support Power Sector with Rs 21,000 Crore Commitment

REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)with the Government of Madhya Pradesh at the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal. The agreement commits Rs 21,000 crore over the next five years to enhance the state’s power sector infrastructure.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan YadavAdditional Chief Secretary (Energy) Neeraj MandloiMPPMCL Managing Director Avinash Lawania, and senior officials from REC Limited.

This investment aims to upgrade transmission and distribution networks, ensuring efficient and reliable power supply for industries, businesses, and households. A significant portion of the funds will be directed toward renewable energy projects, reinforcing Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to sustainable development. Additionally, the initiative will strengthen rural electrification, providing uninterrupted electricity to remote areas.

The collaboration between REC Limited and the Madhya Pradesh government marks a significant milestone in India’s energy landscape. By bolstering power infrastructure, it will support economic growth, enhance energy security, and drive the state toward a clean energy future.
