In a major counterterrorism operation, a US airstrike in Iraq has killed Abdallah Maki Mosleh al-Rifai, also known as Abu Khadija, the chief of global operations for ISIS. This operation, conducted by US Central Command (CENTCOM) in coordination with Iraqi security forces, took place in Al Anbar Province.

Abu Khadija was one of the most important leaders in ISIS, responsible for overseeing global operations, logistics, and planning terrorist activities. His death is seen as a major setback for the group, disrupting its ability to coordinate attacks worldwide.

According to reports, the precision missile strike targeted a compound where Abu Khadija and another ISIS member were hiding. Both were wearing suicide vests at the time of the attack, indicating they were prepared for a last stand. The airstrike successfully neutralized both targets, preventing any further threats.

The US military and Iraqi forces hailed this operation as a significant victory in the fight against terrorism. By eliminating one of ISIS’s top leaders, the US has weakened the group’s operational structure. This strike sends a strong message that terrorist leaders will continue to be targeted.

US officials confirmed the success of the mission, with President Donald Trump stating that the US remains committed to eliminating terrorist threats globally. Military analysts believe this will slow down ISIS’s activities but warn that the group may attempt to appoint a new leader.

The killing of Abu Khadija is a critical moment in the war on terror. It reduces ISIS’s ability to plan large-scale attacks and weakens their influence in the region. However, security forces remain vigilant as the group could attempt to regroup.
