REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, has officially handed over the Mahan Transmission Limited project to Adani Energy Solutions Limited. The transfer took place on March 26, 2025.
This ₹1,996 crore project is an intra-state transmission system in Madhya Pradesh, developed under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) model. Adani Energy Solutions secured the project through a bidding process conducted by RECPDCL and will operate it under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model.
The handover ceremony included key officials from RECPDCL, Adani Energy Solutions, Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL), and Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL). Shashank Sharma, Head of Business Development at Adani Energy Solutions, received the project on behalf of the company.
The project involves constructing substations at Rewa (Sagra) and Amarpatan, along with major transmission lines covering a total of 216 km. The Rewa (Sagra) substation is expected to be ready by October 2026, while the Amarpatan substation is set for completion by April 2027.
This development will strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s power infrastructure and ensure a more reliable electricity supply.
