PM Modi to Visit Thailand for BIMSTEC Summit, Meet PM Shinawatra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Thailand from April 3 to 4, 2025, at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. During his visit, PM Modi will attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit on April 4 and hold bilateral talks with the Thai leadership.

This will be the first in-person BIMSTEC Summit since 2018, where leaders from member countries will discuss regional cooperation, trade, connectivity, and security in the Bay of Bengal region.

On April 3, before the summit, PM Modi will meet PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra to discuss ways to enhance trade, security, and cultural ties between India and Thailand. Both nations share strong historical and economic links, making this visit crucial for future collaborations.

Following his Thailand visit, PM Modi will travel to Sri Lanka from April 4 to 6. He is scheduled to hold discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka on key areas of bilateral cooperation, focusing on trade, investment, and infrastructure development.

PM Modi’s visit to Thailand and Sri Lanka highlights India’s commitment to strengthening ties with neighboring countries and promoting regional partnerships.
