Pakistan Violates Ceasefire for Fifth Night in a Row, Indian Army Responds

Tensions continue to rise along the Line of Control (LoC) as Pakistan has violated the ceasefire agreement for the fifth consecutive night. During the night of April 28–29, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked small arms firing in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir, including Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Akhnoor sector.

The Indian Army responded to the provocation in a measured yet firm manner, ensuring control over the situation. These repeated ceasefire breaches come in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of at least 26 people, most of them tourists. The back-to-back incidents are being viewed as part of a worrying pattern in cross-border aggression.

India has also taken the matter to international platforms, condemning Pakistan’s actions at the United Nations. Tensions escalated further when Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif publicly admitted that the country has historically trained and supported terrorist groups—a statement that drew sharp criticism from Indian officials.

As the situation unfolds, the Indian Army remains on high alert and continues to monitor the border areas closely. Officials have reiterated their commitment to peace while stating that any further provocation will be met with a strong and appropriate response.
