PM Modi’s Saudi Arabia Visit 2025: Trade, Energy and Strategic Ties in Focus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Saudi Arabia for a two-day official visit, marking his third trip to the Kingdom. This important visit aims to strengthen the growing partnership between India and Saudi Arabia, especially in the areas of energy, trade, and defense.

A Royal Welcome

PM Modi received a grand welcome in Jeddah. His plane was escorted by Royal Saudi Air Force F-15 fighter jets—a gesture that reflects the strong bond between the two countries.

Key Meetings and Talks

The main highlight of the visit is the second meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council, which PM Modi will attend with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This high-level meeting is expected to lead to major decisions on:

  • Boosting Saudi investments in India, especially the proposed $100 billion plan
  • Collaboration in clean and traditional energy sectors
  • Cooperation in defense and security

India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC)

One of the major topics of discussion will be the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). This project, first announced at the G20 Summit in 2023, aims to improve trade and transport connectivity between India, the Middle East, and Europe.

Bond with the Indian Community

PM Modi will also interact with the large Indian community in Saudi Arabia, which includes around 2.7 million people. These meetings often serve to strengthen people-to-people ties and address the concerns of Indian workers in the region.

Looking Ahead

This visit follows the Crown Prince’s trip to India in 2023. Both leaders are expected to sign new agreements and announce steps to deepen cooperation in areas like digital economy, tourism, and education.

PM Modi’s visit highlights India’s growing influence in the Gulf region and shows a clear intent to build stronger, future-focused ties with Saudi Arabia.
