Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic was crowned the 71st Miss World at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai, marking a significant moment in the history of the prestigious pageant. The crown was handed over by the outgoing Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, in a ceremony filled with glamour and global recognition. Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon was named the first runner-up, highlighting the diversity of talent at the event.
The finale, watched by millions around the globe, featured breathtaking performances by popular artists Shaan, Neha Kakkar, and Tony Kakkar, contributing to an unforgettable evening of celebration. Hosted by Megan Young, a former Miss World, and celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar, the event showcased a fusion of beauty, culture, and entertainment.
Pyszkova, 24, not only holds degrees in Law and Business Administration but is also a model and founder of the Krystyna Pyszkova Foundation. She has been instrumental in opening an English school for underprivileged children in Tanzania, reflecting her commitment to the Miss World ethos of ‘Beauty With A Purpose.’ “Being crowned Miss World is a dream come true. I am deeply honoured to represent my country and the values of Beauty With A Purpose on a global platform. I am so excited for the year ahead,” said Pyszkova.
This year’s Miss World returned to India after 28 years, celebrating India’s cultural heritage and its connection to the global pageant scene. The event, which began on 18 February 2024, culminated in a grand finale that not only celebrated beauty and talent but also the contestants’ dedication to philanthropy and social causes.
The festival was supported by partners including Mauritius Tourism, Endemol Shine India, and others, with designer Archana Kochar providing her creative vision, making the 71st Miss World a landmark event in the pageant’s history.
