Global AI Advisory Body Members Unveiled

Members of Global Youth AI Advisory Body

The Global AI Advisory Body, an initiative of the Delhi School of Artificial Intelligence, brings together multidisciplinary Youth Experts and Specialists from across continents and geographies, to map, debate, discuss and report on the impact of artificial intelligence on society. They will work towards the UN Summit of the Future.

The Youth AI Body will work across domains and will produce cutting-edge research in core sectors of human society, covering:

1. AI for Communication

Lead by Luisa Taranto from Brazil, this vertical will look at how AI influences modern day mass communication operations. Luisa is a Brazilian journalist, specializing in international relations and humanitarian aid with 9 years of work experience in one of Latin America’s largest media companies. She will focus on the role of AI in the Digital Communication Revolution.

2. AI for Public Health and SDGs

Lead by Joshua Karras from Australia, this vertical will analyse the role of AI as a solution provider in public healthcare as well as analyzing the beneficial role of AI for the Sustainable Development Goals, SDG 2030 Agenda. Joshua specialized in public health management and global health communication interventions. He leads several UN Youth & SDG initiatives in Australia. He has Co-Founded the non-profit – Discover Disability; and will focus on AI to deliver Public Health & SDGs

3. AI for Humanitarian Action

Lead by Marine Rabut from Switzerland, this vertical will map how AI can be implemented in humanitarian action and response, especially in making humanitarian missions agile, efficient and responsive to disaster and conflicts. Marine specializes in humanitarian mission management and global health. She has conducted research on international relations & health logistics, with work experience in Switzerland. She will focus on the use of AI to improve Humanitarian Interventions.

4. AI for Diplomacy

Lead by Dr. Khouzeifi Issakha Doud-bane from Chad, this vertical will explore how the growing prominence of ‘Tech Diplomacy and Digital Diplomacy’ is reshaping international relations and multilateralism. Dr. Khouzeifi is a dynamic Youth Diplomat advancing the sustainable development goals SDG 2030 and the African Union’s 2063 Agenda. He has represented his country at diverse international UN Forums and will focus on AI for Future Diplomacy.

5. AI for Disaster Risk Re- duction

Lead by Sirine El Halabi from Lebanon, this vertical will examine how AI can help in disaster prevention, mitigation and rebuilding. Sirine specializes in post-conflict recovery and development and disaster risk reduction. She has working experience in the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific and is currently working on research in Japan. She will focus on AI to enable Social Development and DRR.

6. AI for Education

Lead by Kyle DiPietrantonio from USA, this vertical will review and map the revolutionary role AI can play in the education sector. Kyle is passionate about innovative education and equitable development. He has worked with international NGOs such as Save the Children and CARE. As a Fulbright Scholar, he fosters cross-cultural learning and will focus on AI for Quality Education.

7. AI for Equitable Devel- opment

Lead by Armela Brocaj from Belgium, this vertical will understand and delve into the catalyst role of AI for development. Armela is has a keen interest and experience in developmental policies and will build on her experience in use of AI for the public sector. She will focus on ensuring equal access and opportunities to the transformative technology and will specialize on AI in Development for All.

8. AI for Peace and Secu- rity

Lead by Ayush Garg from India, this vertical will map the role of AI as an asymmetric strategic technology that can drastically alter international peace and security. Ayush is an award winning AI Expert and the Ministry of Defence Gold Medalist, specializing in militarization of AI technologies. He is a youth peace officer and an international communications specialist on the United Nations. He will focus on AI for Peace and Security.

9. AI for International Law

Lead by Victoria Smith Lind from Sweden, this vertical will legally define and structure the role played by AI in conflict zones. Victoria is a lawyer specializing in EU Law. She is the Swedish Delegate to the EU Youth Dialogue and is a part of a WHO Youth network. She examines international humanitarian law and will focus on laws governing the use of AI in Armed Conflict.

10. AI for Agriculture

Lead by Philipp Erbach from Germany, this vertical will look at the benefits of using AI technologies in the agriculture sector. Philipp specializes in agriculture, development and natural resource management, having field experience in rural Tanzania, working experience in Sweden and policy making in the European Commission. He will focus on AI to combat Global Hunger.

11. AI for Human Rights

Lead by Molly Ogogo from Kenya, this vertical will examine how AI will effect human rights and liberties. Molly is a passionate advocate for women and children’s rights and has played a key role in shaping inclusive policy development in Africa. As young generations, specially in the Global South, adapt to a digital world, she will focus on AI to secure Human Rights.

12. AI for Poverty Eradi- cation

Lead by Nikoline Landheim from Norway, this vertical will delve into the use of AI for poverty reduction. Nikoline has experience in peace, human security and multilateralism, having worked across multiple humanitarian crises where poverty poses a persistent challenge. With a background in law & strategy, she will develop solutions in AI to Eliminate Extreme Poverty.

13. AI for Law Enforce- ment

Lead by Police Major Phirapat Mangkhalasiri from Thailand, this vertical will focus on the use of AI in law and order. Police Major Phirapat specializes in countering organized crime and terrorism, with 9 years of experience in law enforcement, serving as an investigator and lecturer. He will focus on the application of AI to strengthen the Criminal Justice System.

14. AI for Finance and Economics

Lead by Amélie Thouvenot from France, this vertical will explain how AI is being used to develop new financial ecosystems and models. Amélie is a finance professional specializing in capital, entrepreneurship, investment and is passionate about economics for sustainable growth. She is working in renewable energy in USA and will focus on AI for building Inclusive Financial Models.

15. AI for Climate Change & IOs

Lead by Natacha Tsivery from Madagascar, this vertical will research how AI can be used by International Organisations (IOs) to fight the adverse effects of climate change. Natacha is a passionate advocate for climate action and specializes in international organisations. She has worked with Doctors Without Borders in France and the Human Rights Foundation in USA. She will focus on AI to address Climate Change through International Organisations.

Together with their multi-dimensional expertise, these 15 Youth Specialists will collaborate to produce an independent formal report on AI for Humanity which will be presented at the Summit of the Future, the United Nations historic and once in a generation summit, scheduled for September 2024.
